Thanks to Ruby for keeping me up to date on the Gaiden. Sorry also for being neglectful of this site. Anyway, the new Gaiden that’s coming out on 5/1 will be called Koryou no Yume (黄粱の夢). In it will be the short story about Seiran’s childhood and the story about Seiran and Ensei’s past meeting. (Neither of which I have summarized on this site).
The title means something like “a pipe dream” or “dreams that are too good to be true” (the latter translation was provided to me by Ruby here. It comes from a saying in Chinese.
Also, there will be some new material which hadn’t been previously published, and the gaiden in total will be 320 pages long.
From one of the bloggers I read (take with a grain of salt): it seems that the new material will be the story of how Shuurei’s parents met? Eeep. If this is true, well, this is LONG overdue.

Shouka as main character!
I will definitely buy this.

Yeah, I’m looking forward to this.

320 pages? wow does that make it the longest book ever?
the longest books that have been published are vol.12, vol.14, and gaiden 3, having each 288 pages or so.
btw, i heard (also take with a grain of salt) there’s also going to be the past meeting of Seiran and Kou family, which happened after the summer when Ensei and Seiran destroyed the 杀刃贼.

I am guessing so! Wow. And it’s fairly cheap also.
Hmm, I didn’t hear that. I hope they show that. It’s just too frustrating how there are so many “missing scenes” in these books. >_>

have you seen the illustration i did of the 1st chaper of vol.14, where Kouki were carrying Shuurei from the Ministry of Punishment back to the Censorate, meeting Anju on the way?

? I don’t think so.

OK…I‘m not sure if you’ve missed it again, or you just don’t think the comment above needs response. I’m leaving this comment in case of the former. ^^

Nice picture!
(Sorry, at the time for some reason baidu refused to load the site.)
Anyway, interesting translations… I didn’t try to translate any of the titles because I kept on worrying that they were a reference to something I didn’t understand; also often titles in Japanese translate so badly into English that people who translate books often end translating the titles REALLY liberally.
At some point I think I’ll try translating the titles myself into English.

looking forward to it ^^
btw, what do you think 杀刃贼 could be translate into in English?
“the killer blade thieves”?

I just finished translating the “dates and events” thing
However, alot of it is still in Chinese, but they’re almost the same as the Kanji.
If you find some part of it strange in wording, pls let me know. my English is not quite good.
