Spoilers have begun to show up on the boards. As always, take with a grain of salt. Also, I didn’t order the book, so I have no way of directly confirming things.

I’m actually not sure who the female character is supposed to be. Many of the Japanese fans are saying it’s (young) Ruka.
EDIT: According to the Animate Message page, it is Ruka. (it seems to be some kind of promotional material by Animate with some info about the novel on it) The other characters who appear on the page are, besides Shuurei and Ryuuki, Riou Jr., Riou Sr., Ruka, Uu Uu, Suou, and Shuuei. Shuuei’s being on there is interesting. Perhaps he may play a major role in the story?

According to Japanese fanblogs, the cover of the next book will have Shuurei, Ryuuki, and an unknown female character on it. The unknown female character is someone of a “highly noble clan,” who will play an important role in the story (holding the key to the novel, apparently!)
Which character is it? I would either guess a) Heki Karin, or b) Yuri.
11/16: Apparently a character who has not appeared for awhile will also appear and do stuff in the next book. This character is also of a noble house and may help Shuurei in some way (is worried about her?).

New Saiunkoku book coming out 11/28. The title is 暗き黄昏の宮 (Kuraki Tasogare no Miya), which translates as Palace of Dark Twilight. (Or, it could translate as shrine rather than palace)
The blurb says that Shuurei had gone missing, and Ryuuki was very disturbed by this news. Then Suou comes and begins to talk about the astounding thing which had happened to Shuurei’s body.
Anyway, I’ve been busy with other things, but I’m thinking of starting a site where people can discuss Saiunkoku and u/l pictures and videos to share with others.
