This is because Ou Ki is the most mature and experience of the trio. Seiran would be most like his father and if he has no one to reign him in, he could end up being a cruel king.

Ryuki initially did not want to be King, so he has made many mistakes and well you reap what you sow. However if he is given time and good guidance (like from Yuushun and Shuurei) he will become a great king, the best of the trio. It's just too bad that he may run out of time.

As interesting as the Ou Ki / Ryuki arc has been, I'm more interested in what is happening in Hyou clan, with Shuurei and Shusui. Hopefully the next novel will explain more about what is going on there.

Things don't make sense about the Black Immortal. Basically I had thought that the coloured Immortals are loyal to the King? Isn't that the original story for the immortals, that they came to the aid of the first king? Hence why would an immortal now break rank and by de-stablizing the county, dethrone Ryuki??

I am new here and I just found that saiunkoku was actually ongoing light novel. After months of reading, I don't really understand it. Black Immortal was in Sa Sakujun right? Is he the one messing with the Hyou clan?
